J. E. ADAMS DIES AT FAMILY HOME HERE
James Edward Adams, one of the oldest residents of Mokane, died at the family home in Katy Street at 6:05 o'clock Thursday morning, March 14, after a seven weeks illness.
He was born in Iron County, Missouri September 19, 1866 and was married at St. Aubert, Mo., February 24, 1886 to Miss Minnie Lilly, they had just recently celebrated their sixieth wedding anniversary.
The deceased is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters, Frank Adams of Silvis, Illinois; Mrs. W. C. Swan of Moberly, Mo.; and Mrs. Linnie Thomas of Jefferson City, Mo. One son and one daughter preceded him in death.
He leaves ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, W. M. Adams of Fulton and George Adams of Mokane and one sister, Mrs. Lula Denton of Baxter Springs, Kansas.
At the time of going to press no definite funeral arrangements had been made pending the arrival of the family.
The Adams family has made many friends in Mokane during their 47 years here and they join with The Missourian in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved.
