Mrs. Henry (Reba) Bargen, 72, a former Hudson school teacher, died of cancer Sunday, May 2, at the Amery hospital. She left Hudson a month ago to make her home in Amery.

Reba Offerdahl was born June 25, 1903 in Hudson to the late Haakon S. and Minnie (Gysbers) Offerdahl. Her father was St. Croix County Clerk for nearly 30 years. She lived her entire life in Hudson and was graduated from Hudson High School with the class of 1922. Later she was graduated from River Falls State Teacher's College and then took an elementary teaching position in the Hudson school system, a post she held for a number of years.

On June 8, 1928 she was married to Henry Bargen, a high school teacher, who died June 11, 1970. Mrs. Bargen was an accomplished violinist and pianist and was active in the Presbyterian Church of which she was a member. She had been an organist and deacon and belonged to all of the women's church groups.

She was president of the Hudson Women's Club in 1943-44. She was worthy matron of the order of the Eastern Star in 1941 and their organist for 15 years until the present time. She was also grand page of the Wisconsin grand chapter of the Eastern Star and a member of the past matrons club.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. L.D. (Barbara) Lawson of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Arvid (Nancy) Stephens of Amery and by three grandchildren.
