Rebecca's Obit:

Casey Illinois Library:
Harrison and Ann Stump, was
born Feb.18, 1860,
and died Dec 29, 1916, aged 56yrs, 10 month, 11 days.
She was one of 9 children, her father and 3 brothers
still surviving.
Feb.24, 1878, she was married to
W. A. Applegate and to them were born
7 children, one of whom, Hazel, died March 21, 1915.
The husband, two daughters, four sons and nine grandchildren survive her.
About 20 years ago Mrs. Applegate was converted and made a profession of her faith in Christ, uniting with
The Church of God. At the time of her death she was a member of the Church at Hazel Dell. She was a Christian not only by profession but through every manifestation of her life as wife, mother and neighbor.
Her husband praised her
and her children called her "Blessed."
During a part of her life she was not strong woman physically. For several years she was a sufferer. She made heroic efforts to prolong her life, and was ever busy to do all she could for her family. In spirit she was a gentle, patient and unassuming, and bore her sufferings with fortitude, as is begotten of true Christian Faith.
One's life can be made far reaching, it can be made to be influential, in spite of bodily weakness, or of circumscribed surroundings, especially is true of the life of the christian wife and mother: her life influences that of husband and children. Such a life was that of
Mrs. Applegate.
Life and she had been long together through pleasant and through stormy weather, and the Christ
whom she served as best she could did not forsake her in the last weeks of decline nor at the hour of death and we may say of her is that she is of thouse whom death is precious in the "sight of the Lord."
