James Wayne (or Wain) Britton

Son of Emanuel and Jane Britton.

James married Rebecca Whatley on Oct 24, 1861 (recorded as Nov 1, 1861) in Troup Co., Ga. They had 11 children.

James served in the CSA with his brother, W.B.C. Britton. James enlisted in Co. C, Ferrell's Battery, Ga Light Artillery, assigned to Roddy's Brigade. He served from April 1862 to April 1865.
