Obituary: Charles E. Baker, 83, of Oolitic, died at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the I. U. Health Center in Bedford. Born March 31, 1928, in Owensburg, he was the son of Frank and Ruby (Wagner) Baker. He was employed in research and development at NWSC Crane and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He married Jewel Adams and she survives. Also surviving is a son Mike Baker and wife, Shelly (Arp) Baker of Judah; two grandchildren, Shaun Baker and Robyn Baker both of Bedford; one great grandchild, Mackenzie Lee Baker of Bedford; three step-great grandchildren, Morgan Plocher, Gage Plocher and Kaitlyn Teagarden, all of Bedford; one brother Paul Baker of Owensburg; two sisters, Ethel Baker Jackson of Owensburg and Carol Baker Wisley of Oolitic, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Baker; one sister, Imogene Baker and a half0brother, Albert Wagner. Services were at Day & Carter with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating.
