Mr. Powell made his home at 146 Clarion Street, Westmont, and left there shortly after 6 o'clock this morning for the Moxham plant. The body was turned over to Undertaker Pendry, who prepared it for burial and removed it to the Powell residence this afternoon. Evan David Powell was born at Ebensburg in 1866 and was a son of David and Eleanor (Hughes) Powell. He was a brother of David Powell, Jr., of Ebensburg and Howard Powell of the Second Ward, this City. Evan David Powell came to Johnstown in 1888 and started to work for the Johnson Company in Woodvale. He helped to transfer this plant to the Moxham district and has since been with the company there Mr. Powell was one of the oldest employees in the Moxham plant, where he was highly esteemed by his fellow workmen. He was identified with the Veterans' Association at the Lorain Plant. In December 1889, Mr. Powell and Miss Jane Worthington of this city, were married here by the late Rev. Dr. David M. Miller of the Presbyterian denomination. Besides his widow and brothers, the deceased is survived by two sons, Daniel Richard Powell, late of Roswell, New Mexico, but now of Jeannette, and Thomas Haydn Powell, at home. Daniel Richard Powell arrived home from Jeannette at noon today. The deceased was prominent in church and Sunday School work here for a long time. He united with the South Ebensburg C. M. (Calvinistic Methodist?) Church many years ago and transferred his membership to the Vine Street Congregation during the pastorate of the Rev. D. C. Phillips. Mr. Powell was a Trustee of the Vine Street Church for a long time, was a teacher of a class of boys in the Sunday School, and sang in the Friendly Male Chorus for some years. He was identified with the Salem Church Reunion Association and was one of the promoters of the Presbyterian Church now being erected on Westmont. Mr. Powell was a member of Agla Commandery Knights of Malta Mountain Castle, Knights of the Mystic Chain and was identified with the Philharmonic Society under the leadership of Thomas E. Morgan. Funeral services will be held at the Powell residence at 2:30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. John Rhys Roberts of the Vine Street Congregation with internment in Grandview Cemetery.
