NEW ALBANY – Fannie Mae Wells Grisham, 102, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her residence. She was born Jan. 19, 1912, in Union County to Clem Callaway Wells and Fannie Mae Coward Wells. She was a homemaker, and an avid sports fan, especially of the Ingomar Falcons. She was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior adult group. She loved to quilt.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Owen, the Rev. James Rutledge, and the Rev. Chris Madison officiating. Burial will be in Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter Fairy "Sis" Dorrough of New Albany; her son, John W. Grisham (Joyce) of New Albany; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Lee Grisham; 18 brothers and sisters; and a son-in-law, Jewel Dorrough.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Dorrough, Will Dorrough, Matthew Dorrough, Rob Browning, Ross Browning, Matt Browning, Jared Carter, Seth Cobb, Sam Cobb and Nick Cobb.
