Death Takes Frank Allen Linotype Operator Expires Two Hours After Heart Attack Saturday

Frank Allen, 44, of 224 McNeil Street, linotype operator at the Shreveport Times, died unexpectedly about 9 p.m. Saturday, two hours after a heart attack.

Mr. Allen, who has been a Times employee for approximately 20 years, came to work Saturday afternoon, and about 6:30 p.m. was taken to his home by the shop foreman, after he complained of illness. A physician was called and treated him. Mr. Allen reported feeling better but soon had a relapse and died.

Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Wellman Funeral Home, had not been completed Saturday night.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife; two brothers, John and Key Allen, both of Dallas, Texas, and a sister, Floriene Allen, also of Dallas.

Allen Rites This Morning Services for Linotype Operator to Be Held At 11 O'Clock

Funeral services for Frank Blaine Allen, 44, linotype operator, who died at his home, 224 McNeil Street, following a heart attack at his home Saturday night, will be held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Wellman Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Caylor, pastor of the Highland Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in the American Legion plot in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be W. H. Cornwell, M. E. Nealey, R. J. Harrison, J. M. Titone, M. E. Marandet, E. B. Davis, J. L. Pinckard, B. E. Nettles. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shreveport and Dallas Typographical unions.

Surviving the deceased are his widow, Mrs. Hattie Suberger Allen; two brothers, Key and John Allen, both of Dallas, Texas, and one sister, Floriene Allen, also of Dallas, Texas.
