Callie Brazil Bellah, known to friends as "Kelly" was born to Daniel Mordecai (Mord) Bellah and Tursey Sisk Bellah on January 6, 1902, in Dalton, Arkansas. Kelly had two older sisters, Modena May Bellah and Minnie Belle Bellah and an older brother Almus who died in infancy. Kelly moved to the Carney, Oklahoma area between 1918 and 1919 with his father and step-mother and half brothers and sisters, Troy Bellah, Commie Bellah, Ruby Bellah, Ruthie Bellah, Vada Bellah, and Truly Bellah. His half-brother Clifton was born after they arrived in Carney.
He married Grace Eva Orr on October 25, 1922, and they had two daughters, Jewell Pauline Bellah, and Marcella Bellah. Kelly and his family lived in and around Carney and Wellston, Oklahoma area with a brief time spent back in Randolph County, Arkansas where he owned and operated a small business called Elm Store. He also had a small store in Carney and later a store near Morris, Oklahoma before he and Grace retired in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
