Kathryn Elizabeth Hawkins was born 14 September 1888 at 1303 North 3rd Street, Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, daughter of William Franklin Hawkins and Mary Belle Hagan. She died 24 June 1952 at the home of her brother, Archibald Franklin Hawkins, in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa.
Her family moved back to Jerome in 1898 where both her mother and father had been born. She attended the Jerome Public School. She was an active member of the Jerome Methodist Church, a past president of the W.S.C.S. and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Seymour Chapter No. 124. She served several years as the Postmaster in Jerome and as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Jerome Cemetery Association.
Funeral services were held at the Jerome Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m., June 28, 1952 with Rev. F. J. Ackman of Centerville Methodist Church officiating assisted by Rev. M.R. Gonzalez who was also soloist. Mrs. M. R. Gonzalez accompanied him in his rendition of "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone," "Death is Only a Dream" and "Tarry With Me." Burial was in the Jerome Cemetery.
