"Three Small Girls Drown" from the Kansas City Star: "Amoret, Mo., June 19 - Three girls, ages from 9 to 11 years, drowned late yesterday in the Marais des Cygnes River about one and one-half mile south of this community. One of the children, Iona Bain, 11, was the daughter of Mrs. Daisy Bain, Leavenworth Kansas. The other two were Vera Hamilton 11, and her sister, Freda Hamilton, 9, daughters of H.E. Hamilton of Amoret.

Iona Bain had come here from Leavenworth to visit her grandmother, Mrs. Estella Cole. Together with the Hamilton girls, she left her grandmother's home yesterday afternoon. When the children failed to return late yesterday, a search was started which resulted in the finding of their clothing on the river bank.

The body of the Bain girl found early last night, the body of Vera Hamilton was found later and that of the third was found early today."
