Jerald "Jerry" I. Atkinson, 67, Moscow, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center - West Campus Davenport. The Rev. Jon Gimmy will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalist Henry Bentley. Memorials may be made to Moscow United Methodist Church. Mr. Atkinson was born March 30, 1938, in Crawford County, Wis., the son of Harry and Freda Ward Atkinson. He married Marilynn E. Stratman on Aug. 9, 1974, in Galena, Ill. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy He worked at North Star Steel, Wilton, for 24 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Methodist faith, attending the Moscow United Methodist Church, Moscow. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bird watching and watching the Cedar River go by his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Atkinson in infancy and Karen Bartosh; and a brother, Herbert Atkinson.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, funeral home.
