PIONEER WOMAN PASSES AWAY
Death of Mrs. Orlando Taylor at North Manchester funeral Saturday
Mrs. Orlando Taylor,one of the pioneer residents of Wabash county,died this morning, of consumption of the bowels,at her home in North Manchester, where she had lived with her son,Joseph Taylor for many years.
Mrs. Taylor was over eighty years old and was born in Fayette county,Indiania.She became the wife of Orlando Taylor in 1844, and in 1848 moved,with him to Kokomo where they resided until 1855 when they moved to North Manchester,where Mr. Taylor died in 1880.Five children were born of the marriage,only two of whom,Joseph and William,the latter living at Muncie,Ind., surviving. Mrs. Taylor was a devout Christian woman and was beloved by all who enjoyed her acquaintance.She was an earnest worker in the Baptist church to which communion she was attached for more than forty years.The funeral takes place at ten o"clock Saturday morning at Pleasent View church, Rev. Freeman Taylor conducting the service. Burial will be at Hopewell cemetery where her husband is interred,at noon.There will be a short service at the grave.
