ELWOOD -- James "Earl" Boles, 58, Elwood, passed away Jan. 23, 2001, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 6, 1942, in Celina, Tenn., the son of Will Ed and Lola Boles, and was a resident of Madison County for more than 46 years. He retired in 1997 from Delco Remy.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving until 1966. He was a member of the Elwood YMCA.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Mary (Niccum) Boles of Elwood, whom he married April 20, 1968; mother, Lola Boles of Irving, Tenn.; three daughters, Debra Wisner (husband, William) Roeder of Anderson, Teresa Wisner (husband, Greg) Barkdull of Pendleton and Sherri Wisner (special friend, Gary Plumlee) Dietz of Elwood; son, Max E. Boles and special friend Lisa Fernung of Indianapolis; two brothers, Russell Boles and Kenneth Boles, both of Irving, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His father, Will Ed Boles, preceded him in death.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Jackley-Landrum Funeral Home with the Rev. James Stout officiating. Burial will be in Elwood City Cemetery
