"Those souls who have passed on are not forgotten but for those who would remember...."
Origin of name (McNeel) goes back to Scotland (about 1700). This, from family papers that describe (a great grandfather to Brinton) who had retained his silver buckles and kilt from an emigration from Scotland. Clan was McNeel.
Brinton Wallace McNeil (previous McNeel) grew up on his father's farm in West Moreland which was in the Lane County (Eugene Oregon) region. This homestead was on Spencer Butte south of Eugene. His trade was an electrician. He worked for various concerns, to include a lumber mill at Rock Creek, as the electrical engineer for the lumber mill. Later in his life he lived in the Saint Helen's Oregon region, and at the end of his life, Vernonia Oregon, to the south.
Brinton passed away in Portland at the Physician's & Surgeon's Hospital @ 19th and Marshall Streets, on October 13, @ 1:30 A.M.
Death Certificate shows birth date of July 14, 1903; however, his marriage certificate with Florence Irene Smith shows September 14, 1903. (Obviously somebody wrote something down wrong.) I will try to verify the accurate month as I can.
My grandfather died at just 45 years old from a heart attack, (coronary thrombosis). He also had aortic valve stenosis (possibly congenital) making it difficult for the heart to pump the blood throughout his body. Other medical complications were influenza and pneumonia. He'd been in the hospital for a period of 1 month. (Physician's and Surgeon's Hospital, Portland Oregon).
Florence Irene Smith
Irene and Brinton were married April 21, 1928 at the offices of Wells & Wells, located in the Bank of Commerce Building (address unknown), in downtown Eugene Oregon. They were married by Justice of the Peace, Harold J. Wells.
Separated on June 3, 1938, and later divorced on October 16, 1939, (Brinton was awarded custody of "Bob" Brinton Jr.).

*Notates bloodline actual descendants of Brinton Wallace and Irene McNeil, this in spite of the fact these children were adopted out to other families. Many children during the depression were not raised by their own families. Brinton and Irene were both kept apprised (by the adoptive parents) and visited the children as they grew up. These children were never forgotten by Brinton or Irene.
The family name of McNeil shows as McNeel within just a couple generations. Somehow it changed over 100 years. Brinton's grandfather was Wallace B. McNeel.
On March 12, 1942, Brinton remarried to a Frances Mc Sweeney at Vancouver Washington. Residence (at the time of his death) was Vernonia, Oregon, Columbia County, just south of Saint Helen's Oregon. Brinton and Frances were said to have had one son (name unknown). Frances shows as his widow at his death.
