Guy Adams, one of Franklin Township's most prominent and industrious farmers passed away Wednesday morning, May 9th, 1923 at the old Adam's homestead after an illness covering a period of several months. In the death of Mr. Adams this vicinity has lost a good citizen. He was universally liked by all who knew him. In his business dealings with his fellow men, Guy could always be depended upon as being fair and honest. He loved and cherished the friendship of those whom he trusted. He was a loving husband and a kind father and dutiful son. From the family circle has passed one whose place can never be filled on this earth. Mr. Adams has suffered intense pain during his illness, but with all he never complained, he suffered but through that suffering could be noticed a smile of hope, he know that some day he would again meet his loved ones, where suffering no longer dwelt.

Guy Bertram Adams, the son of Almon L. and Mary E. (Jewell) Adams, was born in Franklin Township November 24, 1878 and died on the old homestead on May 9th, 1923. He was united in marriage to Edna M. Hegwood, April 6th, 1898 and to this union one daughter was born, Gladys A. Mobley.

Besides the wife and daughter he is survived by a mother, one brother Joe Adams of Onawa and a sister, Mrs. Oak E. Bader of Blencoe, Iowa and one granddaughter, Joyce Mobley. The family were all present at the bedside when death entered.

The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock al the old homestead conducted by Rev. C. S. Kleckner of the Onawa Christian church and burial was made in the Onawa Cemetery.
