Jeff attended and graduated from Preston High School, where he participated in FFA, wrestling, and football. Jeff served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Cebu Philippines mission.
Jeff married Mary Ellen Swann in the Manti Temple on Nov. 3, 1977. They were blessed with six children. Jeff started working for Utah Power and Light in 1978. At the time of his death, he was working as the Logistics Lead for the Preston Hub of Rocky Mountain Power.
Scouting was an important part of Jeff's life. As a youth, he served as camp counselor at Hull Valley, Camp Hunt, and Camp Wilderness. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was also recipient of the Silver Beaver award. As an adult, Jeff has served as Scout Master, Varsity Coach and Cub Scout den leader. At the time of his death Jeff was serving on the Franklin District Varsity Staff and on the Eagle Board.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Allred, of Preston; and by his children, Nathan (Tonia) Allred, of Pocatello, Idaho; James (Lauren) Allred, of Miamisburg, Ohio; David (Rachel) Allred, of Hailey, Idaho; Amanda Allred, of Preston; and Adam Allred of Preston; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Brad (Pamela) Allred, of Salt Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael Allred, and a brother Stanley James Allred.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 at the Preston North Stake center, 310 N. State St., with Bishop Tom Madsen conducting. A viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the stake center.
