THE EVENING HERALD, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON
MONDAY, MARCH 18, 1918

In the death of Edgar Virgil, Saturday night at Klamath hospital, Klamath Falls loses one of its prominent and most respected businessmen.
Mr. Virgil passed away at 8:30, following the effects of a serious operation he had a few days before. He had had attacks of illness at various times during recent years and it was hoped that the operation might remedy the trouble, but little hope was held by the surgeons with the seriousness of his condition.
During Mr. Virgils, years of business here his straight forward honest methods endeared him to the general public, and it is probable, there no man has been called from here who had a more genuine respect from his associates.
The deceased was born near Elkhart, Indiana, March 20, 1853. He came to Ashland in 1904 where he had started a Second Hand Store when he moved to Klamath Falls in 1905. His business here prospered and he later purchased a furniture stock and at the time of his death had built up a large business on one of the best locations in the city. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Dollie Virgil, a son Willis, at Dallas, Texas, and a daughter Fannie in Pueblo, Colorado. His mother is still living at Garland, Kansas and there are three sisters living.
