My ancestor Frantz(Francis) Krick was one of the earliest of the "Pennsylvania Dutch" settlers in Berks Co. Pa. He came from the Palatinate in Germany. I have his name in the ship's log of the 'Pennsylvania Merchant' -arrived in Philadephia-1731. He & his wife Catharine Stoudt(en) are my 5th great grandparents. They had 14 children. Six of their seven sons served in the Revolution-only George did not-because of bad eyesight. Our family descends from their son John Peter & his wife Catharine Rader-who are also buried in St. John' Churchyard in Sinking Spring.
There is a lot info. about the well-known Krick family-wills, deeds etc. One of fondest memories is visiting the St. John's Reformed Churchyard & seeing the fine Krick Monument: a great stone tree trunk bearing the names of Frantz & Catharine Krick & their children. A scroll reads: 'In Grateful Memory of Francis and Catherine Krick Who Came to America Sept. 11 1731. Erected By Their Grateful Descendants 1915'.
One of those who contributed to this monument was my grandmother-Ruthelia Friday Blair whose grandmother was Rebecca Krick.
