Raymond "Ray" Doyle May was born to Roy and Mattie "Bunchie" Opal May in Ada, Oklahoma and he moved to the Carson Valley in Nevada in 1962 from Placerville, CA. He was a brilliant businessman who owned and operated several local businesses, including the Arco AM/PM in Minden, NV for 21 years. Some of his favorite activities included boxing, tennis, fishing, collecting art, and listening to country music.

Ray is survived by his four siblings - Velma Dickerson (NV), Robert May (ID), Leon May (NV), and Barbara Silva (CA); five children - James May, Raymond E. May (NV), Charles "Chuck" May (NV), Paula Siever (NV), and Lance Thomas (WA); five grandchildren - Camille May (NV), Alicia Siever (NV), Raymond "Joseph" May (NV), Lillianna "Lilly" Thomas (WA), and Luther Thomas (WA); and one great grandchild - Emily Armao (NV).

Ray was laid to rest on April 16, 2009 at Waltons Chapel of the Valley Cemetery.
