CARROLL ADKINS, 86, of Ceredo, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 27, 2004. at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Caudle Adkins. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, W.Va. He was born July 29, 1917, in East Lynn, W.Va., a son of the late Lee and Mary Jackson Adkins. He was retired from Huntington Alloy as a machinist. He was a former member of the Huntington Beagle Club, the Wayne County Bee Keeper's Association and the Quarter Century Club at INCO. He was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Tillman, Hiram, Herman and Lee Jr. Adkins. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys Warf Adkins; two sons, Roger Carroll Adkins of Ceredo and Gregory Kent Adkins of Titusville, Fla.; a daughter, Kristi Lynne Adkins of Ceredo; two granddaughters, Carly Marie and Kimberly Lauren Adkins, both of Titusville; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Adkins of Titusville; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Lola Bowen of Ceredo, Rilda Egan of Huntington, Hazel Leffler of Troy, N.Y., and Charlotte G. and Jim Diamond of Wheelersburg, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The nephews will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave., Huntington, 25701.
