of Deltona, ended his fight with cancer on Feb. 2, 2012.
He was born in Milton, Fla., to the late Brady and Juanita Arrington of Bartow. He graduated from Bartow High School in 1968 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Following his service to our country, Mr. Arrington provided for his family in various managerial roles within the grocery and retail industry.
Throughout his life, Doug was characterized by his generous and unfailing devotion to his family, and his passionate support of the Florida State University Seminoles.
Besides his parents, Mr. Arrington was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Roger Arrington.
He is survived by his daughter, Hilary Riker of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Doug Arrington of Deltona; and his two grandchildren, Alyssia Spitzer and Draven Clemens.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's name to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 1625 Veterans Memorial Pkwy., Orange City, FL 32763.
