Robert Lewis Andersen Sr.
Died at his home in Elkhorn, Nebraska on Thursday morning. He was born on Oct. 8, 1908 in Omaha, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Darline and his sister Helen Phillips of Omaha. He left four children, Carol Andersen Grice, Robert L. Andersen Jr., Charles L. Andersen and Jack L. Andersen all of rural Elkhorn, Nebraska. Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren survive him.
He attended school at Ponca, Nebraska and was married June 5, 1934. He was an Omaha Policeman in the early thirties for three years. He moved to Bennington in 1942 as the owner of Andersen Trucking. He moved to Elkhorn in 1956 and began working in the dairy business until he retired in 1976. The family had several dairy stores in Omaha. In the 80's he assisted his sons in the management of their manufactured home business in Omaha. He was a shriner and a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge, Tangler Temple where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a life time member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. He lived for thirty-nine years with his wife Darline, and was surrounded by most of his family on the Andersen farm at Elkhorn, Nebraska. He loved his family very much and he will be sorely missed by us ALL. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent in his name to the Bethany Lutheran Building fund for the building of the new church in Elkhorn. 10/19/95.
