Bud Overton
Services were held April 2, at the First Baptist Church in Vinson for "Bud" William Horace Overton who died March 31, 1990 in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 79. Rev. Kelly Smith, pastor First Baptist Church of Vinson, officiated the service. Burial was in the Cave Creek Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home.
Born December 1, 1910 at Vinson the son of George and Julie Overton, he married Helen Crowley in Hollis in 1934.
Living all of his life in Harmon County, he was a farmer and rancher. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Vinson.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; two daughters, Sandra and her husband Carl Reynolds of Oklahoma City and Yvonna and her husband Lloyd Wilkins of Shawnee; five grandsons Mark Wilkins, Curtis Reynolds and his wife Leslee, Scott Wilkins and his wife Liz, Keith Reynolds, and Jeff Witcher and his wife Shelly; two great grandchildren Caleb and Bethany Wilkins; and two brothers Forrest Overton and Russell Overton both of Vinson.
