Mr. George A. Hambleton, of Springfield, Pa., has announced the marriage of his sister, Ethel L. Janes, formerly of this city, to Mr. Philip DeHaven Handwork, son of the late John Handwork, a former mayor of Coatesville, and Mrs. L. Henry LeVaron (sic) [LeBaron], of Springfield, in Springfield, on Tuesday, December 16.

PHILIP D. HANDWORK, 53, of Oakbourne Road, R.D. West Chester formerly of Springfield and Coatesville, died Wednesday in Chester County Hospital. Mr. Handwork, a 32nd Degree Mason, was owner and proprietor of the Brandywine Realty Co., Downingtown.

He is survived by his widow, Ethel L. Handwork [nee Ethel Lorena HAMBLETON; M1 Unknown Bush; M2 Delmar Paxon Janes; M3 Philip DeHaven Handwork; M4 Charles D Werner] a stepson, Ronald James [JANES] of Boothwyn; two [step] daughters, Mrs. Patricia [nee Janes] Duffin of Upper Darby, and Mrs. Phyllis [nee Janes] Wilson of New Castle, Del., a brother, George [George Heber Handwork III, whom Philip was allowed to name after their Uncle II and Great Grandfather I] of Dallas, Tex., and 11 [???] grandchildren.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday evening at the Patterson Funeral Home, Baltimore Ave. and Monroe St., Media."
Cause of Death: Buerger's Disease (Rare: Thromboangitis Obliterans)
JV HANDWORK's Note: To my knowledge, there was but one step-grandson in 1961, Tommy. Possibly newspaper error for "11" grandchildren! Our Uncle Phil had three Step-Children: Twin Daughters and one Son by his Wife, Ethel's previous marriage.)
