Olivia was the youngest daughter of Isaac Walton and Catherine Perry, who came to Sumner County, Tennessee from Gates County, North Carolina in about 1790.
On April 19, 1826, Olivia married William Prince Connell, son of William Connell and Sarah Prince. Olivia is my cousin both by marriage and blood since her husband is my first cousin and her sister, Elizabeth is my G-G-G Grandmother (married Lemuel Tinnin). In addition, Olivia's sister, Nancy, married another Connell brother, Enoch.
This one little family snapshot shows how limited the choices were for our pioneer ancestors. The Connell, Walton, and Tinnin families in this place and time are so tightly woven it is often difficult to disentangle them. It was quite common for first cousins to marry as well.
Olivia and William had no children and he died at just 48. Olivia, however, lived to the startling age of 98, having outlived every member of her family.
