Lynley Elyse Herbert, 16, died Saturday, March 3, 2001.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Chandler, the Rev. Gregg Simmons and the Rev. Les Sharp officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors.
Miss Herbert was born in Amarillo and was a junior at Borger High School. A varsity cheerleader, she was on the varsity basketball, track and cross country teams. She was a member and officer of the BPA, a class officer, officer of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a Life Group Leader and a cast member of The Music Man.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was leader of the Youth Group.
Survivors include her parents, John and Janet Herbert of Borger; two brothers, Patrick Herbert of Waco and Brady Herbert of Borger; a sister, Keely Herbert of Abilene; and grandparents, Dave and Nan Warren of Fort Worth and Betty Herbert of Comanche.
The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Youth Ministries; or a favorite charity.
