Mrs. Mary M. Busby, 71, wife of Robert Busby, died at 10:30 o'clock last night at her home at 805 West Adams Street. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Busby was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Oller. She was born in Shelby County December 3, 1854. She was united in marriage to Mr. Busby on September 12, 1880, at her father's home, south of this city.
Mrs. Busby was a woman of excellent character. Her kind and amiable disposition and her readiness to help the unfortunate, made her loved by all with whom she came in contact. No children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Busby, but they took several children into their home and cared for them with patient and gentle hands until a home was secured for them. They reared three foster children from infancy, a foster daughter, Mrs. Wallace Price, who passed away a few years ago and two foster sons, Guy Oller and Dean Lee, both of Taylorville who survive. Her parents, a brother and sister also preceded Mrs. Busby in death.
