Olive was born in New Hampshire. She and her husband, Charles, lived in Pokagon, Calhoun County, Michigan, before removing to Ross Township, Lake County, Indiana in 1848 where the family can be found in the 1850 U.S. Census. Olive was 18 years younger than her husband, and was his third wife. Known children of the union include: Sarah, William, Hiram, Maria, Francis and Adeline. All children, except Sarah who was born in New Hampshire, were born in Michigan.
