|Birth: ||Jul. 4, 1883|
|Death: ||Mar., 1937|
Charles was the son of Milo and Olive (Blakeman), and most likely born on the family farm in Winfield, Lake County, Indiana.
He married Millie Westbay on March 27, 1907 in Lake County, Indiana. She died in 1911. No children reaching maturity came from the union.
After the death of Millie, Charles worked on his father's farm. It is unknown how Charles came to meet his second wife, Orrel Thurman, whom he married on June 21, 1921 in Knox County, Illinois.
After his marriage, Charles continued to farm in Winfield, Lake County, Indiana. Two daughters, Edna and Bernice, came from the union.
Note: The WWI draft registration card completed by Charles states his birth is July 4, 1883. The birth year on the stone appears to be wrong. The Illinois marriage record for Charles states he was born in Crown Point; I suspect an incorporated or major town was reported as opposed to Winfield which was unincorporated.
