Marian was the daughter of Edward L. and Jerusha Eubanks Robbins. She was married for 59 years to Elmer E. Dickson who died in 2004. They had three sons, David Earl, Richard Edward and Alan Elmer Dickson. They had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marian and Elmer left Picayune in 1960 and lived in Memphis, Tn; Aiken, SC; Appleton WI; and Alpharetta, GA. After Elmer's retirement they moved back to Picayune. Marian was a member of First Baptist Chu8rch of Picayune, and Daughters of the American Revoloution. She ws a published poet and took pleasure in the English language, spokien and written. Her kindness, courtesy and wit will endure forever in the memories of familly and friends. She had many interests: beauty of birds and flowers; great compassion for children and animals including her pets and a deep love of humanity.
