| Birth: | Jan. 7, 1813 Pennsylvania, USA | | Death: | Mar. 12, 1897 Wayne County Indiana, USA |  David Ulrich, an old and much respected citizen, died at his home three miles north on the Dalton Pike, Friday March 12th in the 85th year of his age. He was married to Barbary Clapper, October 23, 1831, with whom he lived until her death, November 25, 1851. To them were born seven sons and three daughters, five sons still living. He moved when young, with his parents from Pennsylvania to Ohio, and subsequently settled near this place. In 1870 he moved with his family to Illinois, remaining about nine years, when he again came to this state where he has ever since remained. Mr. Ulrich was a kind and obliging neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand, was considerate of the comforts of his family, and was sincerely devoted to them. He realized much pleasure from reading the bible and maintainted a firm belief in the promises of God. The funeral discourse was delivered by Elder S.V. Siler, of Ohio, Sunday, at the Ulrich church, Revs. Lewis Kinsey and Abram Bowman assisting in the funeral ceremonies. The remains were interred in the Ulrich cemetery.
