Gene Belden, 47, passed away on May 31, 2005 following an extended illness. He was born on January 21, 1958 in Bangor, Maine. Gene is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Kimberly Belden, Cortland; his daughters, Corey Jo Lyn Belden and James, N.J., Jenilee "Rosie" Belden and Joshua, Owego, Sharli Marie Belden, Joella "Toe head" Jean Belden, all of Cortland; his father, Karl W. (Lois) Belden; mother, Mary Ann Jones; and grandson, Connyr Eugene Belden. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers and their significant others: Carla Pierce and Ed, Denise O'Donnell, Elizabeth (Rob) Harris, Brenda Truesdail and Dave, Lisa Rossignol, Caprice Rossignol, Jeffrey "Pete" Belden and Tina, Scott Belden and Laurie, Frank Rossignol, Dean Belden and Denise, Cindy (Tom) Bosley, Howard (Linda) Matson. In addition, he is survived by his children's grandparents and uncle, respectively, Ron and Carolyn Corey, Ron and Connie Corey; stepmother and step grandmother, Gladys "Dolly" Holt and Florence Dean; and many, many friends. Gene was an employee of Stork H&E, Danby and thoroughly enjoyed all of nature. Some of his favorite moments were spent driving around the countryside, fishing and spending quality time with his daughters and grandson.
Funeral services for Gene will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. The family will receive their friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 p.m. on Friday.
