|Death: ||Mar. 24, 1926|
Enlisted in the 7th U.S. Cavalry on 10 January 1872. He was placed in Co. A, under Thomas MacDougall. The 7th Cavalry was under the command of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer at the Battle of the Little Big Horn in Montana
in June 1876.
Sgt. Alcott was not on the Little Big Horn at that time, which possibly saved his life. He was on detached service at Powder River Depot.
