Henry was the second child of Swedish immigrants August Robert Anderson and Hedvig Olivia Eden. He the first generation to be born in America.
Henry married Lucile Rebecca Garfield in 1936. They had two children.
Their first child was Frederic Robert Anderson. He was born on May 27, 1937 in Brockton, MA. At the time they resided in 71 Market St. Brockton, MA.
In 1938, Henry and Lucile bought 215 Copeland St. Broxkton, MA for $3,600.
On April 9, 1939, Henry and Lucile had their second child, David Warren Anderson. He alo born in Brockton, MA.
On March 26, 1943, Lucile went labor prematurely. Lucile was rushed to the hospital while Henry used his bike to take Fred and David to his sister Elin's house. The baby was a boy and only lived for two minutes. The funeral was the next day. Interment was at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton, MA.
When Henry used to go fishing, he would buy a bag of clams and used them as bait. The leftovers he would eat.
Around 1946, Henry, Lucile and their kids left for a trip around the country. They stayed in a cabin one night and camped out the rest of the trip. Fred and David missed the last and first two weeks of school.
Lucile passed away on July 5, 1953 due to stomach cancer. She had gone in for surgery but the doctors were unable to do anything so they put her on medication. The medication failed to work and she passed away. She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery.
A few years later, Henry remarried to Barbara Berry DeLoid. They relocated to 2 Sixth Ave. Wareham, MA. They sold their house to Henry's son, David, whom at the time was living at an apartment with his wife, Helen, and children, Raymond and Joyce.
Henry retired in 1962 from Brockton Machine Co. He was superintendent and had worked there for 36 years.
Barbara passed away in 1979.
Henry had a dog named Jenny. Jenny was very well trained. If her toys were around the floor, Henry would tell her the place is a mess and Jenny would pick up her toys. She could also bark up to four. Henry had made her a wooden bed and put it under the kitchen table.
Henry also like to garden. He had a garden in his backyard with rows of vegetables. Most of the vegetables he ate were from his own garden.
Henry was getting more and more ill over the years due to cancer. His eyesight became so bad that he was unable to drive. He did have connections with his neighbors and they were able to drive him around.
Henry passed away on January 4, 1983 in Brockton Hospital. His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m on Friday, January 7. at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home. Interment was at Pine Hill Cemetery.
