Son of Charles E & Berthana Evans.
Served in Company F, NY 10 Heavy Artillery in the Civil war. He died 26 days after he mustered out of the service.
Civil War documents in the library at Watertown, show that Barton was discharged because he was ill with consumption (TB) and Jefferson Co, NY records show that he died from that.
