Immediately after graduating from Hurricane High he joined the Army, becoming the supervisor of the Radiology department in a Army hospital in Oakland, California. At the end of World War II he left a career in Radiology and the Army to attend Photography School in Berkley, California. Moving to Orem in 1977 they created another Photographic studio and became known as the man with the chicken, bringing laughter to the thousands of school students. Along the way they gathered anyone who needed a home and a bit of love. Eventually 19 called him Dad.
