Josiah Willis Bailey, son of Josiah Jacob Bailey and Rosannah Matilda Gill, born about Feb 1866 at Cedar Township, Van Buren County, Iowa, the eighth of eleven known children.
He came to Nebraska from Iowa and is first found in the 1900 Census on a farm outside of Lamar. His brother Winfield Bailey, with his wife Ellen, is located nearby. By 1926, Willis has migrated to California and is a registered republican voter in District 7 Porterville with a res address of 414 So E. In 1930 census he is enumerated on a farm outside of Porterville, Tulare County, California.
Per the Lamar, aka Green Lawn, Cemetery Index found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~swnegen/lamarcemetery.htm, Willis is buried at A38-E1 (brother Winfield at A38-E2), however there were no dates attached to the index. Photo by FAG Jackie Holifield 6/10/2012 shows only a Funeral Home Marker "Willis Bailey" and no dates.
