Dorothy Adams, longtime resident of Eakly OK, passed away peacefully at The Maple Lawn Estates in Hydro. She was 81. She was born to Marion and Inez (Anderson) Scott in Carnegie, OK on February 8, 1934, and passed away on September 14, 2015.
She was united in marriage to O.R. Adams in Eakly on March 16, 1951. To this union, 3 children were born. Dorothy was an accomplished cake decorator and enjoyed making beautiful birthday and wedding cakes for many years. She was a mentor at The United Methodist Church in Eakly, where she had been a member for many years.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond Lee Adams and wife Pam of Blanchard, OK. Scotty Allan Adams and Maggie of Eakly, OK. her daughter, Denise Renee Swagerty and husband Tom, Blanchard, OK four grandchildren Staci Weiker and husband David of Moore, OK Brian Adams and wife Christina of Blanchard, OK Jeanie Lee Adams of Carnegie, OK
Brooke Rich and husband Stephen of Bridge Creek,OK 12 great granchildren, Trey, Emma, Faith, Brilynne, Tayler, Noah, Alyssa, Samantha, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Kenley and Destin
and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, O. R., her parents, 3 brothers, Narvel Scott, Sterlin Scott and Earl Scott, and 2 sisters Darlene McRay and Fern Isdal.
Funeral Services will be at 2pm Wednesday, September 16, 2015, The United Methodist Church in Eakly, OK. Burial will follow at the Eakly Cemetery, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie.
