Mr. Adams, member of a prominent family, was born in Lancaster County, Illinois, in October 1876. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philo Adams. With other members of the family he moved to this community about sixty years ago. Following the death of his parents, he continued to live in the family colonial home, about two miles west of Okolona, until the house with its antique furnishings was destroyed by fire about five years ago. Since that time he made his home with his brother until illness caused him to go to the nursing home.
A prominent planter and cattle raiser, he was keenly interested in community affairs. He possessed a most cordial manner and was admired by all who knew him.
In addition to his brother, he is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Forest Castle of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Mrs. Irene DeBrown, of Lincoln, Neb.; a nephew, F N Adams; a great niece, Mrs. W G Stovall Jr., of Washington D C ; and two great nephews, Wallace and Richard DeBrown, of Lincoln, Neb.
