James R. "Jimmy" Miller, 61, Salina, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004.

Mr. Miller was born April 27, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a police officer and city code enforcement officer for the city of Salina. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Rene' Miller, in 1970; and two brothers, Jerry in 1994 and Patrick in 2001.

Survivors include his significant other, Marshia Miller of Salina; a son, J.D. Miller of Salina; a daughter, Paula Fowles of Solomon; five brothers, Donald of Silver Lake, Mike, Danny and Phillip, all of Salina, and Elmer of Stockton, Mo.; four sisters, Lana Weberg and Shirley Jensen, both of Salina, Jayne Jaimes of Overland Park and Pam Williams of Atchison; a half sister, Dorotha Trouslot of Newton; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio, Salina, the Rev. Garlen Howington officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Culver Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family.

There will be no visitation.
