Donald C. Bock, 73, Pontiac, died at 6:04 a.m. Monday (April 2, 2012) in the emergency room at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Memorials in Don's name may be left to the Livingston County Food Pantry or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Don was born Jan. 12, 1939, in Pontiac, a son of Irwin and Blanche Scurlock Bock. He married Irene Platis on Oct. 29, 1961, in Rantoul.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters in infancy.
Mr. Bock graduated from Pontiac Township High School. He served our country in the U.S. Army in the 2nd Armored Division from January 1962 to January 1964, stationed at Fort Hood. He had worked as a meat cutter at the A&P Store in Pontiac for 25 years. He worked as the food supervisor at Pontiac Correctional Center for 23 years, where he retired as the supply supervisor. He was a member of the former Moose Lodge in Pontiac.
