David was born February 5, 1848, in Lawrence County, Ohio, son of a father born in Canada. He died November 23, 1922, in Tony, Rusk County, Wisconsin. His place of burial is unknown.
In December 1868, David was united in marriage to Margaret _________, at Portsmouth, Sciota County, Ohio. She was born in 1850, in Ohio, daughter of parents also born in that state. They later divorced. Their known children were: Mary L., b. Oct 1869 in Ohio; John W., b. Dec 1870 in Ohio; Emma Viola, b. Jun 1872 in Wis.; Annie Garrett, b. Jan 1874 in Wis.; & Laura, b. Aug 1875 in Rice Lake, Wis.
Mary later married _______ Hunt and lived in Mitchel, South Dakota. Viola married _______ Morris, and lived in Nebraska. Annie married _______ Bearman, and lived in Texas.
