The Bridgeport Telegram, Newtown, Aug, 2--Services for Frederic H. Duncombe, 71, former town treasurer of the Newtown Water company, who died Saturday in Winter Park, Fla., will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Newtown Village cemetery, with the Rev. Paul A. Cullens, pastor of the Newtown Congregational church, officiating.
A native of New Rochelle, N.Y., Mr. Duncombe had resided in Newtown nearly 40 years, his last residence here being on Wendover road.
Mr. Duncombe had served as town treasurer several years. He retired as treasurer of the Water company three years ago. Mr. Duncombe also served as treasurer and deacon of the Newtown Congregational church.
An organizer and past president of the Newtown Country club, Mr. Duncombe was a charter member of the Newtown Rotary club and member of the Men's Social and Literary Club of Newtown Street, the oldest social club in the town.
For many years he was active in the Boy Scout movement and once served as a member of the zoning board of Newtown. Mr. Duncombe was a Republican.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Olmstead Duncombe; a son, Raynor L. Duncombe of Washington, D.C., and a grandson.
