William. M. 'Bill' Bryson, 74 succombs to a cerebral hemorrhage at 3 a. m. Sunday July 20 at the Wilson County Nursing Home, rural Fredonia. He had been ill the past month.
The deceased was the son of the late James W. and Rachel V. Griffith-Bryson. He was born November 17, 1883 at Marshall, Iowa. He never married.
Survivors include a brother, Abe Bryson, National California; a half brother, Floyd Bryson, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and three half sisters.
Mr Bryson operated a steam shovel at Mindenmines, Mo., when a young man. He worked at odd jobs here in Neodehsa for a number of years. He was a hard worker, doing well whatever he attempted.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the William Fawcett Funeral Home, with the Rev.G. E. Forssell officiating. Mrs G. E. Forssell sang "The Last Mile of the Way." The Rev. and Mrs. Forssell sang a duet, "Jesus Leads." Mrs C. G. Smirl was the organist.
Casket bearers were: Bill Dotson, Bill Elliott, Frank Bryson, O. D. Partington, O. B. Lukenbill and B. H. Basore. Interment was made in Neodesha Cemetery.
Out of town relatives here for the services were: Mrs A. R. Pile and M. H. Bryson, Stockton, Kan.; Mrs J. T. Seal and Carl Middaugh, Pittsburg; Mrs Viola King, Mrs Alfred Hopkins, Dennis; Mrs Glee Geiger, Parsons; Mr and Mrs Frank Bryson, Thayer.
Bill is buried near Jesse and Blanche [Hall] Lukenbill. He has no headstone.
Father, Jim, is in Star Cemetery and sister, Rachel is beside Jim but she has no marker.
