Lebanon--William E Allwein, 68, of 322 S Eighth St., died Sunday in Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., formerly was employed by Wengert and Hershey dairies, a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of St Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn J Shirk Allwein; five daughters, Jane Link of Lancaster, Stephanie Gahres of Robesonia, Patricia Garrigan of Elizabethtown, Ann Marie Shallcross of Bloomfield, NJ, and Jackie Booth of Annville; three sisters, Jeanette Tribely of Greenville, Marjorie Falk of Lebanon and Mary Calhoun of Lebanon; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:30am Wednesday in Thompson Funeral Home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in his church. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 6:30 to 9:30am Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Program of Good Samaritan Hospital, Fourth and Locust Streets, Lebanon 17042, or the Lebanon Catholic High School Development Fund, 1400 Chestnut St., Lebanon 17042.
