Margaret G. Von Qualen
Margaret G. Von Qualen passed away at Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center, Dade City, Fla. on Jan. 31, 2008.
She was born on June 8, 1919, in Dwight, daughter of Boi Ehmsen and Mary (Weir) Eskildsen. She married Earlen H. Von Qualen on Sept. 22, 1940, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Dwight.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, Funeral services will be held the next day at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Dwight, with internment at Oaklawn Cemetery, Dwight.
Surviving is her husband, Earlen of Gardner; sons - Richard (Marjorie) of Kempton, Virden (Mary) Von Qualen of Batavia, and Gordon (Linda) Von Qualen of Gardner; grandchildren Brett Von Qualen, Carrie (Marvin) Long, Kevin (Lindsay) Von Qualen, Lauren Von Qualen, Leanne (Greg) Koch, Karen (David) Bunting; one great-granddaughter, Gretchen Long; two step great-granddaughters, Jessica and Ashley long; one brother, Neil (Betty) Eskildsen of Bull Shoals, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Von Qualen and Vivian Rieke, of Dwight; and nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Dwight and attended Shepherd of the Hills Church in Dade City, where they spent winters at Traveler's Rest RV Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Anna Marie (Christensen) Seeley, three brothers in law, and a granddaughter.
Margaret was a fine seamstress, quilter and knitter. She worked with church groups making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, was a member of Home Extension, and one of her special attributes was teaching the art of sewing and knitting. She was a graduate of Brown's Business School, in Chicago, kept books for her father's implement business and also kept books for the family farm.
She was a great mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made to either St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Dwight, or Hernando Pasco Hospice, Dade City, Fla.
