Margaret Mary Logan Dyne, 55, widow of John Edward Dyne, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Dyne was born in Harrisburg, Pa., a daughter of John Beach Logan and the late Nina Stefanelli Logan. She taught special education, grades 9-12, at Lakewood High School, where she was head of the special-education department. She received her master's degree in technology and was certified in transcendental meditation.
She was an avid reader and learner, pet lover and a loving mother. She was a member of the Saturday Breakfast Brunch and an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to her father are a son, Evan James Dyne and his fiancée, Sarah Ann Carpenter, of Sumter; a daughter, Alissa Anne Dyne of Florence; three sisters, Nancy Logan and her husband, Edward Eschmann, of Carmel, N.Y., Catherine Logan Hamilton and her husband, Don, of Etters, Pa., and Elizabeth Logan Pirie and her husband, Chris, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her mother and husband.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with Father Charles Donovan, C.Ss.R., officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bullock Funeral Home, 1190 Wilson Hall Road, Sumter, with a prayer vigil at 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the St. Jude Catholic Church Building Fund, 611 W. Oakland Ave., Sumter, SC 29150.
The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.
