Mrs. Geneva Sue Atkins, 80, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her residence. Born May 29, 1929 in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Kettle Nations and Rebecca Marcus Nations. Mrs. Atkins enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, sewing, word puzzles, cooking and canning. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mark Atkins, and her son, Thomas Atkins.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Wofford of Jasper; and her sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Rachel Atkins of Cartersville and Raymond and Joan Atkins of Jasper; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Johnny Atkins and Rev. Randy Forsyth officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Arbor Cemetery in Waleska, Georgia.
