Neal Bailey, 55, was born in Richfield, Aug. 6, 1957, to James and Betty Bailey.

He passed away Jan. 19, 2013, after a battle with cancer, in Ivins.

Married to Maria Ownbey in September 2000. They met in Taylorsville where their families were neighbors and close friends while they were growing up. This resulted in Neal and Maria finding each other and starting their lives together as a couple after several years. They settled in Ivins, where they built a home and created their life together.

Neal was the father of a blended family and grandfather of 14 wonderful grandchildren and a friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Bailey; mother, Betty Bailey; sisters, Melody (Garth) Johns and Robin Bailey (Sid) Anderson; children, Cami Barnes, Angelee (Vince) Bazemore, Chris Grant, Jennifer (Armondo) Thomas, Joshua Bailey; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father, James Bailey; son, Jason Grant; grandparents, Dancell and Cleo Peterson; and George and Ethel Bailey. Several aunts and uncles.

For those that knew Neal knew his loves in life always included anything outdoors, fishing with his father and wife and anyone else that would join him, four-wheeling and camping. Southern Utah is a memorial to Neal by all of the construction projects that he created.

The family would like to thank those that helped in Neal's last days including Jim and Peggy Schaetz, Alpha Home Health and Hospice, especially Ashley, Mark and Becky and Pastor Harold Wiley.

A celebration of Neal's life will be held at Emeritus at Cliff View, 134 West 2025 South Circle, St. George, Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. Please join us as Neal goes on to accomplish bigger and greater projects.

Dress is casual, as Neal would want it to be.
